Why this course

Building shots 3 and 5 as logical follow-ups to the serve by exploiting the most probable natural returns.

Theory

The Context

OTTHN identify S-3-5 as the decisive moment for entering the rally in MS. The Z0/Z1 serve most often provokes a short return with a backhand orientation. The 3rd shot must therefore prepare the 5th, and the whole sequence must build an advantage.

The Concept

Classic S-3-5 pattern:

  • S: Z0 serve → returner in backhand posture, short return or fixed clear.
  • 3: choice between cross-court push (continue net pressure) or deep clear (reverse the situation).
  • 5: exploit the returner's position after their return.

Recurring patterns to master:

  • Z0 serve → short push return → 3rd shot deep clear → 5th shot attack.
  • Z0 serve → clear return → 3rd shot drop shot follow-up → 5th shot at the net.

How This Course Is Structured

We work on isolated patterns, then link them together, then put them under match pressure.

To Go Further

  • Short serve MS Z0/Z1 — the basics.
  • High forehand stroke — for the 3rd shot with a high forehand.

Frequently asked
Who is this badminton course for?+

This course targets the competitive player refining their game under pressure. The selection of drills, the targeted observables and the AI's feedback tone are calibrated to that level — neither too basic nor too technical.

How long does it take to complete?+

The course is structured in 5 steps of video drills. Total estimated time on-court is around 5 minutes spread across multiple sessions — most users complete it over 2 to 4 weeks at the rate of 1 to 2 sessions per week.

What will I actually learn?+

The course focuses on short serve, long serve and their tactical variants in singles and doubles. Each step isolates one observable (a measurable aspect of the stroke or movement), films your reps, and the AI scores you with a personalized improvement axis.

Do I need a partner or coach?+

All steps in this course require a partner — either to feed shuttles in a controlled rhythm or to play themed exchanges. The AI replaces the coach's eye for technical feedback — you stay in control of when and how you train.

How much does it cost?+

This OTTHN course is reserved for PRO subscribers (€39/month). The first step is accessible with a BASIC plan to discover the competitive approach before upgrading.
