Short and Long Serve: Precision
Serve short or long with precision and without fault to start each point under good conditions. It's the only shot you control 100%.

Serve short or long with precision to start each point in good conditions, without giving the opponent an attacking opportunity.
The Context
The serve is the only shot you control 100%. It starts every rally and dictates the rest of the exchange. A well-executed serve means limited quality of return from your opponent and valuable time gained for yourself.
The Concept
Two families to master:
- Short serve: a shuttlecock that skims the net and lands in the front court.
- Long serve: a high and deep shuttlecock that pushes the opponent to the back.
Mental image: you delicately pour a glass of water over the net — gentle for the short serve, generous for the long serve.
To avoid: pushing with the wrist instead of the racket, looking at the target before hitting, a short serve that's too high (a gift for the opponent).
How This Course Is Structured
We first work on the raw quality of the short serve (skimming the net), then its precision on target, then the long serve, then alternating short/long/flick, and finally performing under match pressure.
To Go Further
- Short serve double spirit Z0/Z1 — for millimeter precision.
- Split step — to be ready after the serve.

Who is this badminton course for?+
This course targets the beginner discovering badminton or consolidating the basics. The selection of drills, the targeted observables and the AI's feedback tone are calibrated to that level — neither too basic nor too technical.
How long does it take to complete?+
The course is structured in 5 steps of video drills. Total estimated time on-court is around 5 minutes spread across multiple sessions — most users complete it over 2 to 4 weeks at the rate of 1 to 2 sessions per week.
What will I actually learn?+
The course focuses on short serve, long serve and their tactical variants in singles and doubles. Each step isolates one observable (a measurable aspect of the stroke or movement), films your reps, and the AI scores you with a personalized improvement axis.
Do I need a partner or coach?+
All steps in this course require a partner — either to feed shuttles in a controlled rhythm or to play themed exchanges. The AI replaces the coach's eye for technical feedback — you stay in control of when and how you train.
How much does it cost?+
The first step is free (STARTER plan). Unlocking the rest requires a BASIC subscription at €9/month — unlimited courses, no commitment.
