Why this course

Surprise the receiver with a long, tense serve to Z4/Z5 when their posture indicates they're expecting a short serve.

Theory

The Context

The long serve in MS is not a high serve like in WD: it's a flick serve that passes just above the receiver. Its purpose: to punish a receiver who is too far forward in an offensive posture on the short serve. Its preparation must be identical to the Z0/Z1 short serve.

The Concept

An effective flick serve passes just out of the receiver's reach, drops quickly, and lands close to the back line. Z4 = T-side (center), Z5 = line-side (outside). Its tactical strength comes from the fact that this serve is rare: it mainly serves to prevent the receiver from becoming too comfortable with the short serve.

How This Course Is Structured

We start with the pure precision of the flick, then we work on non-telegraphing with the short serve, and finally, we integrate the strategic dimension in a match.

To Go Further

  • MS Short Serve Z0/Z1 — the base with which the flick alternates.
  • S-3 and S-5 Sequences — managing the 3rd shot after a flick.

Frequently asked
Who is this badminton course for?+

This course targets the competitive player refining their game under pressure. The selection of drills, the targeted observables and the AI's feedback tone are calibrated to that level — neither too basic nor too technical.

How long does it take to complete?+

The course is structured in 5 steps of video drills. Total estimated time on-court is around 5 minutes spread across multiple sessions — most users complete it over 2 to 4 weeks at the rate of 1 to 2 sessions per week.

What will I actually learn?+

The course focuses on short serve, long serve and their tactical variants in singles and doubles. Each step isolates one observable (a measurable aspect of the stroke or movement), films your reps, and the AI scores you with a personalized improvement axis.

Do I need a partner or coach?+

All steps in this course require a partner — either to feed shuttles in a controlled rhythm or to play themed exchanges. The AI replaces the coach's eye for technical feedback — you stay in control of when and how you train.

How much does it cost?+

The first step is free (STARTER plan). Unlocking the rest requires a BASIC subscription at €9/month — unlimited courses, no commitment.
