Hitting Foot and Oriented Footwork Recovery
Synchronize your footwork with your shot, marking a recovery step oriented towards the next shot's zone. The technical foundation of all proactivity.

Mastering the hitting foot and oriented footwork recovery to actively prepare for each subsequent shot and express true proactivity.
The Context
The hitting foot is the essential element for balance in movement. It represents the synchronization between placing the foot on the ground and striking the shuttlecock. The distinct and oriented recovery step, on the other hand, is the transition between two shots: it's the moment when the player stops their replacement, transfers their weight, and orientates their body towards the probable area of the next shot.
The Concept
A correct hitting foot gives weight and impact to the shot, optimizing fixation and trajectory control. An oriented recovery step allows for an explosive start towards the correct zone and facilitates information gathering about the opponent. These two elements form the backbone of the Intention-Execution-Confirmation (I-E-C) cycle.
How This Course Is Structured
The course first works on the hitting foot with static multi-shuttle drills, then adds the dynamic dimension of the recovery step. The final stages put these fundamentals under the pressure of a real rally.
To Go Further
- Center of play and oriented replacement — extend the orientation to the entire sequence.
- I-E-C Cycle — articulate these fundamentals with the initial intention.

Who is this badminton course for?+
This course targets the competitive player refining their game under pressure. The selection of drills, the targeted observables and the AI's feedback tone are calibrated to that level — neither too basic nor too technical.
How long does it take to complete?+
The course is structured in 6 steps of video drills. Total estimated time on-court is around 6 minutes spread across multiple sessions — most users complete it over 2 to 4 weeks at the rate of 1 to 2 sessions per week.
What will I actually learn?+
The course focuses on the technical and tactical foundations: grip, ready position, fundamental strokes and game reading. Each step isolates one observable (a measurable aspect of the stroke or movement), films your reps, and the AI scores you with a personalized improvement axis.
Do I need a partner or coach?+
All steps in this course require a partner — either to feed shuttles in a controlled rhythm or to play themed exchanges. The AI replaces the coach's eye for technical feedback — you stay in control of when and how you train.
How much does it cost?+
The first step is free (STARTER plan). Unlocking the rest requires a BASIC subscription at €9/month — unlimited courses, no commitment.
