Why this course

Master the quality short double serve with millimeter precision to zones Z0 (net-skimming) and Z1 (just behind) to neutralize the opponent's return.

Theory

The Context

In doubles, the short serve is the server's main weapon. Its quality determines the quality of the opponent's return, and thus the rest of the rally. A Z0 (net-skimming) short serve that drops immediately after the net is almost unattackable. A Z1 serve (just behind the short service line) varies the trajectory and prevents anticipation. In singles too, a quality short serve opens up tactical opportunities.

The Concept

  • Z0: A trajectory that skims the net, with the shuttlecock landing 0-15 cm from the short service line. Requires a very precise motion and a soft hit.
  • Z1: A slightly higher trajectory, with the shuttlecock landing 30-50 cm behind the short service line. Used for variation.

Both serves have identical preparation. This is essential to avoid giving away your intention.

How This Course Is Structured

We work on Z0 in isolation, Z1 in isolation, alternating Z0/Z1, serving in directed matches, and themed matches.

To Go Further

  • Even high hand hit — for cultivating identical preparation.
  • S2 Style — for exploiting weak opponent returns.

Frequently asked
Who is this badminton course for?+

This course targets the competitive player refining their game under pressure. The selection of drills, the targeted observables and the AI's feedback tone are calibrated to that level — neither too basic nor too technical.

How long does it take to complete?+

The course is structured in 5 steps of video drills. Total estimated time on-court is around 5 minutes spread across multiple sessions — most users complete it over 2 to 4 weeks at the rate of 1 to 2 sessions per week.

What will I actually learn?+

The course focuses on short serve, long serve and their tactical variants in singles and doubles. Each step isolates one observable (a measurable aspect of the stroke or movement), films your reps, and the AI scores you with a personalized improvement axis.

Do I need a partner or coach?+

All steps in this course require a partner — either to feed shuttles in a controlled rhythm or to play themed exchanges. The AI replaces the coach's eye for technical feedback — you stay in control of when and how you train.

How much does it cost?+

This OTTHN course is reserved for PRO subscribers (€39/month). The first step is accessible with a BASIC plan to discover the competitive approach before upgrading.
