Why this course

Become unpredictable from the back of the court by varying your smash, drop shot, clear, slice, and reverse slice with an indistinguishable preparation.

Theory

The Context

This is the culmination of the 9 previous courses. A player who individually masters the smash, drop shot, clear, slice, and reverse slice but telegraphs them remains predictable. True mastery means being able to choose any of these shots at the last moment, with the same preparation.

The Concept

  • Preparation = Question Mark: Only the end of the motion determines the shot.
  • 5 Shots Available from the Back: Smash, drop shot, defensive clear, slice, reverse slice.
  • Late Choice: The decision is made in the last fraction of a second, not before.

Mental image: your preparation is a question mark — only the end of the motion decides.

To avoid: preparation that changes according to the chosen shot (the opponent reads everything), always choosing the same shot under pressure (loss of unpredictability), wanting to vary without mastering a shot (the choice becomes a fault).

How This Course Is Structured

We first work on forced smash/drop shot alternation, then a sequence of 3 different shots, then prohibiting repeating the same shot, then announcing at the last moment, and finally counting variations in a match.

To Go Further

  • Frappe paire en construction (OTTHN) — for the broader concept of indistinguishable preparation.
  • Attacking S4 Style — to exploit this unpredictability offensively.

Frequently asked
Who is this badminton course for?+

This course targets the competitive player refining their game under pressure. The selection of drills, the targeted observables and the AI's feedback tone are calibrated to that level — neither too basic nor too technical.

How long does it take to complete?+

The course is structured in 5 steps of video drills. Total estimated time on-court is around 5 minutes spread across multiple sessions — most users complete it over 2 to 4 weeks at the rate of 1 to 2 sessions per week.

What will I actually learn?+

The course focuses on tactical reading, opponent adaptation and game patterns to win key points. Each step isolates one observable (a measurable aspect of the stroke or movement), films your reps, and the AI scores you with a personalized improvement axis.

Do I need a partner or coach?+

All steps in this course require a partner — either to feed shuttles in a controlled rhythm or to play themed exchanges. The AI replaces the coach's eye for technical feedback — you stay in control of when and how you train.

How much does it cost?+

The first step is free (STARTER plan). Unlocking the rest requires a BASIC subscription at €9/month — unlimited courses, no commitment.
